Network Maintenance - Atlanta 1, Global Crossing - Oct 6th, 2007
By Smitch - CTO | October 2, 2007
On 6th October, starting at 11:00 PM CST, we will be performing network maintenance for our Global Crossing upstream provider from the Atlanta 1, USA data-center, which should take around 2 hours to complete.
Internet traffic may be interrupted for about 30 minutes during this maintenance window for users who use Global Crossing in their route to Netnibble servers in Georgia USA.
Our DNS servers located in Atlanta will also be affected, but our alternates in Fremont CA, London, Copenhagen and Singapore will take up the slack to ensure that traffic is directed correctly to customer domains.
Incoming mail for customers using our Neptune, Mars, Atlas and Titan servers will also be affected. Our alternate servers will collect mail for those customers during the maintenance window, and then forward it on via ETRN to the appropriate servers after the work is complete, causing a delay of up to 2 hours to incoming mail.
Netnibble would like to apologize for any inconvenience caused to customers by this essential work, and thank you for your patience and understanding.
